{G} Family Portraits

  Gorgeous location, and more importantly, gorgeous family! These guys are always a blast to photograph.  Till we wrapped up the session it was getting pretty dark, and yet they somehow managed to find my lens cap in their yard, which must've fallen out of my camera bag and I didn't notice at the time.  Thanks guys for an awesome session!

I caught this gorgeous little doll having a silly moment during her photo session... and I just loved everything about the image, from her eyes, her expression, and even her tongue poking through her teeth haha!  What a cutie!  Lock her up now dad, she's gonna have all the boys knocking on the door someday soon!

Why do my edits take so long to be completed?

So why are your edits taking {what seems like} forever?  This isn't like your local walmart or sears studio where you get plopped down, have a few pictures snapped and then go into the next room where they throw some basic adjustment on the image like b+w or vignette and voila, you just spent a bunch of money on junk images that took them no longer than 15 minutes for your session and the edits.  This is custom photography.  I take my time with your session.  I want your session to be unique and fun.  And I also want your final images to be beautiful. Once your session is over and you head out the door,  I begin the uploading process from my camera to my computer.  I then cull through your images, choosing the best ones, and duplicates, blinks and unflattering poses get tossed.  After I have culled through the images is where the magic begins.  I adjust lighting, fix blemishes, sometimes I need to remove something or fix something in the background of your image that we didn't notice at your session.  Sometimes an image is almost perfect straight out of the camera, other times an image has great potential, but it needs a lot of tweaking to make it perfect.  Sometimes I spend 10 minutes on an image, other times I've been known to spend an hour editing, enhancing and perfecting an image.  Also keep in mind that you are not my only client.  I go in the order of sessions, so you may be 5th on my list to edit.  I completely understand that you are excited to see you images complete, and I'm excited for your too.  I know it was a great session, I know there are some fantastic images in there, I know that sneak peek I posted for you just made you even more excited, but please be aware that it will take 10-15 business days to complete the editing process for regular sessions, 30-40 business days for all specialty sessions like newborns, seniors, events, etc.  And asking me every other day if your images are done yet doesn't make me move faster, I wish it did, but it doesn't.  it actually takes time away from my editing, as I'm answering constant emails about how much longer the edits will take.   I'm a photographer, a business owner, and a full time mom as well.  Don't worry, I will notify you as soon as they are done with all the info you need to log onto your gallery so you can view your images and share the gallery with your friends and family.  Trust me, your pictures will be worth the wait, you will love them!

House Photography

I got the pleasure of photographing a house for a local contractor for his website again.  The houses he builds are gorgeous, and I loved going in, walking around and dreaming of my next house (I have lots of ideas pinned onto my "dream house decorating' board on Pinterest. =)
